Kenton County Jail Roster
The main Kenton County inmate lookup channel is the JailTracker Public Roster for the Kenton County Detention Center. The official jail inmate-information page links an inmate population listing for current inmates. JailTracker's public app disclaimer says the information is made available for the public and law enforcement to promote public safety, but content is determined by the facility. That disclaimer also tells users to contact the facility before assuming the information is factual and complete.
The roster is useful for current custody, booking details, visible charges, and bond information when those fields are released by the facility. It does not replace court records. After arrest, misdemeanor, traffic, and felony preliminary matters often begin in District Court, while felony prosecutions later proceed in Circuit Court. For the full charge history, plea, disposition, and sentence, use the court record path as well as the jail roster.
The public roster itself is visible through the official Kenton County JailTracker roster app.
JailTracker is the roster entry point, while court portals and the Circuit Court Clerk are still needed for the case record behind a charge.
Use Kenton County Inmate Roster
A Kenton County inmate search works best when the name, booking detail, or charge information is checked against more than one official source. The public roster can change when a person is released, transferred, bonded out, or moved to another custody level. If the lookup concerns an urgent release, bond, court transport, medical matter, or no-contact order, call the jail or contact the court rather than relying on a screen alone.
- Open the JailTracker public roster from the official jail inmate-information hub or the direct roster link.
- Search by the person's name or review the current inmate list if the app presents roster controls before search fields load.
- Open the inmate profile or result card when available, then compare identity, booking, charges, and bond details.
- Use court records to check the next hearing, case number, charge status, plea, disposition, or warrant event.
- Call the Kenton County Detention Center before relying on custody, release, or bond information for immediate action.
Kenton County Inmate Search Fields
The JailTracker app is a JavaScript public roster, so the exact controls can depend on how the app loads in the browser. The research captured the field structure at the public-roster level rather than a static county HTML form. The key point is that the roster is current-custody oriented. It may provide search, sort, list, and profile functions, but it does not create an official criminal-history report.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options / Format Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Search | Text | Unspecified | Public roster app, typically used for name search after the app loads. |
| Roster/list controls | Filters or sort | Unspecified | The app may show current inmates and allow sorting or filtering. |
| Inmate profile link/card | Result item | Optional | Opens visible detail for a selected inmate when available. |
| Disclaimer acknowledgement | Notice | Not applicable | Public safety and general-information disclaimer appears in the app bundle. |
Kenton County Inmate Profile Fields
A Kenton County inmate profile can show more than the visible roster list. The exact field set depends on what the facility releases and what the roster transmits at that time. Booking photos, identity data, charges, court fields, bond, and release status may appear, but medical, mental-health, juvenile, protective-custody, and security-classification details should not be expected in public view.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Mugshot or photo | A booking photograph when released by the facility and available in the roster. |
| Identity | Full name, inmate ID or book number, age or date of birth if published, sex, and race. |
| Physical description | Height, weight, hair, and eye fields if configured for public display. |
| Booking data | Booking date and time, arresting agency, custody status, and facility. |
| Charges | Offense description, count, statute or citation, and case or warrant number when shown. |
| Bond | Bond amount and bond type if set and released to the public roster. |
| Court | Next court date or court of jurisdiction if transmitted from the court side. |
| Release | Release date or status when still visible after release or before removal from current roster. |
For court charges filed after booking, use the case record path as well. The Kenton County arrest records and court charges page separates the booking side from the formal charges that move through court.
Kenton County Inmate Facility
The Kenton County Detention Center is the local jail facility identified in the research. The official About Us page lists the jail address, phone number, and Jailer Marc Fields. It also notes a Kentucky-specific point: the County Jailer is an elected constitutional officer, and Kentucky jailers and deputies are sworn state peace officers with statutory duties. That makes Kenton custody records a jail and jailer function, separate from the Circuit Court Clerk's court files.
The jail's official About Us page gives the detention center's mission and local facility contact context.
The facility page anchors the inmate roster to the local detention center rather than to a state prison or federal custody database.

Custody verification by phone. On-site video visits require advance scheduling; phone-time lobby purchases are available 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during weekend visitation.
The jail's command staff page is another official detention source for Kenton County inmate operations.
Staff and facility pages help confirm that the roster belongs to the Kenton County Detention Center and should be verified through that office.
Kenton County Inmate Booking
After arrest, a person is transported for intake, identity verification, property handling, booking photo, medical and security screening, and charge entry. The booking charge may be based on the arresting agency's paperwork, a citation, a warrant, or a court order. It may differ from the final formal charge filed or amended later in court. That is why a roster hit should be matched to KYeCourts, docket information, or clerk records before drawing a conclusion about conviction or sentence.
Early court events are commonly District Court matters for misdemeanors, traffic cases, and felony preliminary hearings. Felony prosecutions move to Circuit Court. Bond may be set by a judge or other authorized judicial officer. The jail's bond information states that District Court Clerk surety may include cash in the amount set by the court, real estate surety with at least 110 percent unencumbered value and other conditions, or a U.S. Treasury-approved surety company.
Note: A jail roster charge is an accusation or custody entry, not a conviction unless the court record later shows a guilty plea, verdict, or other conviction disposition.
Kenton County Inmate Visitation
The jail allows the general public to visit inmates at the Kenton County Detention Center, but visits are scheduled and subject to change. The facility houses federal, state, and county inmates. On-site video visits are limited, and the jail states that the schedule was adopted for safety standards tied to COVID-19. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, on-site video visits are scheduled online, and remote visits are scheduled through Combined Public Communications Friends and Family.
The official Kenton County jail visitation page publishes the visitation rules and schedule.
The schedule is important because Kenton County separates on-site video visit windows from online remote visitation windows.
| Housing group | On-site video visitation | Online/remote video visitation |
|---|---|---|
| All dorms except Dorms 102, 104, 107 | Wednesday and Friday, 8 AM to 11 AM; 1 PM to 2:30 PM | Daily, 11 AM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 10:40 PM |

Minors cannot visit on weekdays while school is in session, and minors under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Visitors must have valid photo identification, such as U.S. military ID, valid school photo ID, valid identification card or driver's license, or a valid passport, visa, or alien registration card. The jail may conduct record checks when needed for security.
Kenton County Inmate Mail
Kenton County inmate mail has strict address and format rules. Starting August 15, 2025, all mail must be sent to the listed addresses, and mail sent elsewhere will be rejected. Standard non-legal friends and family mail goes to the Highland Heights post office box. Legal mail still goes to the Decker Crane Lane facility address. Ordinary standard letters are not permitted for friends and family mail; the rule calls for pre-stamped postal postcards only.
The jail's inmate mail page lists the address change and prohibited-mail rules.
Mail rules are part of inmate record use because a roster search should confirm the inmate name and inmate ID before mail is sent.
- Standard mail address: Inmate Name and Inmate ID, Kenton County Jail, KY, PO Box 76550, Highland Heights, KY 41076.
- Legal mail address: Inmate Name and Inmate ID, Kenton County Jail, KY, 3000 Decker Crane Ln., Covington, KY 41017.
- Required sender detail: incoming mail must include the sender's name and return address.
- Postcard rule: standard friends and family mail must use pre-stamped postal postcards.
- Photos: up to five photos may be mailed in an envelope on photo paper, with no other enclosure.
- Inspection: mail can be inspected or read for contraband and rule violations.
Kenton County Inmate Phone Time
Phone time can be purchased in the jail lobby in $5, $10, or $20 denominations. Lobby purchase hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and during visitation on Saturday and Sunday. Phone time can also be purchased online, is placed electronically on the inmate's account, is valid only at the Kenton County Detention Center, and is not refunded for partially used time. The jail no longer uses phone cards.
The official inmate phone time page identifies the local purchase rules.
Those phone-time limits are separate from the court record and should be checked with the jail when an inmate has moved or been released.
Note: Phone time and commissary records are jail account records, not Circuit or District Court case records.
Kenton County Inmate Custody
Not every person connected to a Kenton County case appears in the county jail roster. A sentenced person may move to Kentucky Department of Corrections custody. A person under state supervision may appear in Kentucky Online Offender Lookup. Kentucky VINE can provide custody-notification and offender-status alerts. Federal prisoners are searched through the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator. These systems answer different questions, so a missing county roster result is not proof that no custody, supervision, or case record exists.
The jail's official inmate-information hub connects roster, commissary, bond, visitation, phone, and mail tools for Kenton County custody records. That hub is the best starting point when the roster search leads to a practical jail task rather than a court-record question.
